Lalibela, the old town and rock hewn churches

Lalibela is a religious centre and its rock hewn churches are of one of Ethiopia's major tourist attractions.
The old part of town has a traditional character, but on the edges are cafes, and several small hotels and guest houses. The airport is a short drive away.
